Light Design Workshop

SMD has taken part as teachers in the Light Design Workshop that was held at mEdio design.

The workshop was focused on the design of lamps. The idea is give an introduction to digital design and fabrication using the object design topic as an excuse.

Yesterday we finished the first workshop of the season, consisting of a two days work on design a lamp and fabricate it. We ended quite late and there was no time for a closing event, but after all, the participant showed their lamps and we all have a nice time together.

The resulting lamps are quite amazing and we are very proud of everyones work, taking in mind that everything has been designed and fabricated in a bit more that 16 hours of work.

In this short workshop, participants started designing their lamp from the first moment after the official presentations, and take some basic training of RhinoCAM the same afternoon for start programing things right after. All the fabrication was executed the next day, dividing in equal parts the design process and the fabrication.
