SMD Arquitectes also develops renderings for architecture visualizations as part of the services that we offer. In this case, the client was Carolina Garcinuño and the renderings done by SMD were for her TFG, presented at EsARQ-UIC and now featured in the Diagonal Verda exhibition hosted at DHUB Barcelona.
In our constant research on how to improve the way we work and be more efficient and precise, we have been testing a new workflow when doing renderings based on Rhino and V-Ray. It consists in exporting the render as .vrimg; following the steps from Rhino to Photoshop as: .vrimg > vrimgtoexr > ProEXR > Photoshop.
Using .vrimg allows us to render in any desired size, as the render is stored in HardDrive as it computes (instead of being saved in RAM memory) and then, the use of ProEXR Photoshop plugin, allowed to speed up the process of importing the render channels and work easily and efficiently with them in Photoshop.
